September 8, 2004 -- Primary Children’s Hospital is the life line to many children from all over the U.S. and the world. Primary Children’s Hospital is a charitable, community-owned, non-profit health care organization based in Salt Lake City, Utah. They provide children with health care for ailments that range from simple fevers to major traumas to cancer. Averages of three children a week are diagnosed with cancer and as many as 500 children are under Hospital care at any given time. Primary Children’s Hospital provides millions of dollars each year in charitable assistance and patient care.
Primary Children’s Hospital gives so much to these children that we feel a great need to support their efforts. That is why once again the Annual “You’re Not Forgotten Toy Run” © will take place. This year; we are pleased to be joined and co-sponsored by The Peacemakers Motorcycle Club. It is our wish that the combined efforts of all of those who contribute to this great cause will only serve to make this year bigger and better than the previous years.
All toys and donations are to benefit the children at the hospital. The organizers of this event feel so strongly about this cause that 100% of all donations are given to Primary Children’s Hospital. All the toys, games and personal items collected will go directly to the children. In addition; all cash donations are used by the Utah Motorcycle Foundation to purchase more toys for the children.
On Sunday, September 26, 2004 we will be meeting at Murray City Park in Murray, Utah beginning at 9:00 am and loading up all the donations. What a sight it is to see thousands of motorcycles riding the route to the Hospital as though it were a parade, escorted by multiple Police and Highway Patrol Motor Squads and led by Santa riding a Harley and our Honorary Ride Chairman Tom Barberi of KALL 700 radio. At 11:00 am we will leave Murray City Park and make the ride to Primary Children’s Hospital to give the children a bit of Christmas. The toys will then be distributed to the children who are hospitalized. The undistributed gifts are used throughout the year for other events in their lives; such as birthdays, Christmas, graduations from Chemo along with other “you did it” occasions. The more we are able to collect and give to Primary Children’s Hospital the more they can give to the children to make their stay a little less stressful.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of some of the illness’ involved; the hospital discourages stuff animals. We appreciate any donations that are received. If you could see the looks on the faces of the children; like many of us have, you would know that it is not the size of the gift or cash donation but the joy that it brings to them. Primary Children’s Hospital gives so much to the children. Let’s make sure that we can help them to keep giving.
